Yes, but the field is narrow. Miravela is a Paris-built platform for brand teams and agencies that puts 12 image and video models, brand kits, client approval and delivery in one workspace. In our checks we found no other French-headquartered, multi-model image and video platform aimed at agencies. Higgsfield remains the stronger pick for solo creators who want cinematic camera presets and the widest model list.

What "French alternative" can and cannot mean

Two things get mixed up in this question. One is where the company is based. The other is where the models run.

Higgsfield is headquartered in San Francisco, and a LinkedIn post by its CEO says it builds most of its product in Kazakhstan. Miravela is based in Paris, and its data is hosted in the European Union (Paris), with each workspace isolated from the others. Miravela does not train models on client content.

The models themselves are different. Miravela runs them at their providers (Google, OpenAI, ByteDance, Kuaishou and others), so generation does not happen in Europe. Only the platform and the data are hosted in Paris. If your legal team asks about it, give them that answer.

Where Higgsfield is the better choice

Higgsfield is a credit-based suite. Its own blog says more than 30 models, Soul ID and the studios draw from one balance on one plan. One review credits it with 70+ camera presets. If your work is short cinematic video, social clips or character-driven content, that is a real strength. Miravela offers 12 models, not 30.

Price also matters for solo users. Higgsfield and Krea both sell individual plans well below Miravela's €199 per month Studio plan, as shown on Higgsfield's pricing coverage and Krea's plan listing. A freelancer making content for themselves should start there.

Credit mechanics are worth reading before you commit. On Higgsfield, unlimited access covers specific models, for a limited window, on higgsfield.ai only. Per Krea's own guide, credit packs expire after 90 days. Re-rolls and upscales also cost credits.

Where a French, agency-oriented platform fits

The gap is rarely generation quality. It is everything around the generation: briefing, sorting by client, review rounds, approval and delivery. Miravela is built around that chain.

Miravela has been in beta since September 2026. It comes from the team behind Mira Studio, a Paris creative studio that built the tool for its own luxury and fashion work. It is newer than Higgsfield, Krea or Magnific and has a smaller model list.

What Miravela's own data says about speed

These figures come from Miravela's database for the last 90 days. They are aggregated and name no client.

• 8,544 generations were started and 8,079 completed, about 95%.
• 7,307 were images and 1,237 were videos, so images dominate real agency use.
• GPT Image 2 handled 3,074 generations, with 95.9% completed and a median time of 95 seconds.
• Nano Banana 2 had a median time of 26 seconds.
• Seedance 2.0 had a median time of 312 seconds and 88.6% completion.

For a producer, this means two things. Image rounds are quick enough to iterate live with a client. Video takes minutes per clip, and roughly one in nine Seedance 2.0 runs did not complete. Plan video work as a batch with margin, and do not promise a same-hour video turnaround. This is a feature of the video models themselves, not of any single platform.

How to choose

• Solo creator, mostly video: start with Higgsfield or Krea. Their entry prices are lower and their model lists are longer.
• Agency with several clients: look for per-brand folders, roles, credit caps and a client approval step. Miravela is built for this.
• In-house brand team in fashion, beauty, luxury or hospitality: the brand kit and prompt history matter most. Check them in a trial.
• Catalogue and packshots at scale: a specialist such as Photoroom may cost less per image than a general generator.
• Stock plus AI in one bill: Magnific, formerly Freepik, bundles a stock library with generation. The company is Spain-based, so it is European but not French.
• EU data hosting is a hard requirement: ask each vendor where data is stored and where models run. Do not assume the two are the same.
